International Reggae Poster Contest

The International Reggae Poster Contest (IRPC) is an initiative designed to celebrate the positive international reggae culture. The contest highlights the globalization of reggae and the resounding impact of its message.

The contest was founded by Michael Thompson and Maria Papaefstathiou in 2011. The umbrella term "reggae," as used by the organizers of the International Reggae Poster Contest, encompasses all the popular Jamaican musical genres.

In 2021, they released a special contest based on the song "Shadows After Dark" and focused on human trafficking. Despite it being a difficult topic, after extensive research, I developed two poster proposals in the same graphic line that try to play with metaphors and illustration as a way to create very strong visual compositions that help to push the message that we need to stand against human trafficking.
