This book collection was designed as part of an exercise for my editorial design class. We were tasked with creating a travel book collection, which involved designing two of the covers for eight books and the book block itself.
To develop the concept of the collection, I extensively researched the culture and history of each city featured in the books. Inspired by the Art Nouveau and Victorian art movements, I aimed to highlight their distinctiveness. By incorporating elements from these artistic styles, I sought to deliver a final product of exceptional value that would captivate and differentiate itself to the target audience.
The final result is visually striking, blending classic influences from the art movements with contemporary elements. This combination of timeless aesthetics and modern flair provides the collection with a unique and captivating appeal. It allows the books to effectively convey the essence of the cities while resonating with the current audience. The incorporation of contemporary elements ensures the collection remains relevant and engaging, creating a well-rounded appealing experience for readers.
